Here is the letter that Karen, High Flyer's owner, wrote us:

Hi there!

How lovely it is to hear back from you about Biggles! Thank you very much!

I know what you mean about knowing more about cats than known as a mad cat lady and its a title i wear with pride! So much so I've become very involved with our local branch of Cat Protection. If only every job could be as rewarding!

I actually have one of Biggles babies too. Her name is Rumblestrips - Rummy for short.

20100320-rummy_.jpg

She's 9 years old and my very first cat. Thats how i got to know Stephanie and how she asked me if I wanted to have Abramalyn high Flyer when she emigrated. She can stop anyone with one of her withering looks and can be a grumpy little thing - I have many scratches and bites to prove it! Sounds like the strong character seems to run in the family! Wouldn't swap her for the world tho - love her to bits!

Where do I start with Biggles? He was born 14 July 1994. When we first got him 6 years ago he was a very big boy - a lovely huge adorable cat. As you can imagine he lost a lot of weight over the past couple of years when he got his kidney problems but he was still gorgeous. There's an advert on tv here that has a british blue in it and I swear it could be him! Not sure what happened in the early days but I seem to be his third and last owner. But I'm so glad that I had him. His temperament was beautiful. He was a perfect cat with a lovely wee smiley face and bright eyes. One of his favourite places was on the back of the sofa with his tail around my neck or gently bopping you on the back of the head - just to let you know he was there. He'd follow us from room to room and would wait for us outside the bathroom door just to make sure we would find our way back to the living room with his help. Everyday we had him was an absolute treat. As you can imagine we're still missing him loads - he left a huge hole in our lives.

Its good to know his wee genes are still living on in your cats - I have to say there are alot of offspring from him - he was a very busy boy! Led a very fruitful life I think.

I'll attatch some pics of him for you - see if you can pick one for your site. I'm absolutely delighted you want a pic of him! Please do put a wee bit about him on your blog - I like to see wee bits about the cat background when I look around. I'd put his wee handsome face all over the world!

I'll include a couple of Rummy too - let you see if there's any other family traits!

Let me know that you get the pics ok - you know what this modern technology is like! And if you need to know anymore about my wee Biggles just ask!

Hi there.

Was looking around your british shorthair page and was absolutely delighted to see a lovely wee picture of Abramalyn High Flyer on Paula's pedigree page. LINK TO PAULA'S PEDIGREE

His original owner Stephanie Harrison Croft gave him to me when she moved to Cyprus 6 years ago. His name around the house was Biggles and he was the loveliest pet you could ever ask for.

Unfortunately we lost him in October last year at the grand old age of 15 and a half and I still miss him terribly. It was so nice to see him on your page and its lovely to see that his handsomeness still lives on with his grand children. He was irreplaceable.
You are very lucky to have such beautiful cats. Keep up the good work.

February fifth the US East cost was once again hit with a Noreaster as they call it, this one dropping up to twenty four inches of the priceless stuff Vancouver Winter Olympic desperately need.
Airports, highways and by-ways all blanketed with the whitest fluffiest snow ever, officials ordering folks to stay home unless in case of an emergency.
Grocery stores ran out milk and bread, snow shovels became rare commodity.
Turns out it wasn't enough to prevent TICA's dedicated members and cat fanciers to get together and proudly display the cats, enjoy a friendly competition and talk feline to cat lovers young and old.
Against all odds we all met at the Riverside Inn, where the atmosphere was warm and cosy, meows and purrs were the norm, while big white flakes drifted silently to the ground.

Tecumseh or T'Boy as we call him along with our beautiful Bijou were excited to be part of the show. Bijou, who just came along for the ride surprisingly took most of the awards. T'Boy's physique for his young age made on impression on the public, while Bijou's charm won the hearts of the judges.

TBoy and Bijou

Bijou and TBoy greatly enjoyed the traveling accommodations, they spent the whole night at our feet on the big bed.

We had a great time traveling down to Pennsylvania, always a wonderful trip, our Bijou successfully accumulated the required amount of points required for her Quadruple Grand Champion title. We are very proud of our babies' achievements, it is always a pleasure to show and introduce the breed to the public in general, who still knows little of this breed.

Jan 11, 2010: Happy New 2010 Year!

Posted by: admin
A new year has arrived, may it bring health, prosperity, and happiness to all!

Before the Holidays, Boreal Cattery received many wonderful Christmas cards from adoptive families, a wonderful sweet gesture. We are very happy to keep in touch with so many kind loving people. We are also very impressed by the amount of letters from home we receive on a regular basis. It is wonderful to look at the photos and see how the "kids" are growing up. We now have adopted cats that are turning four years old, just getting into the prime of their lives.

After receiving such positive response from the kittens new homes, we cannot but, feel proud and happy to have contributed to happiness of so many families. When a little girl tell you, while she is holding her new kitten that "this is the best day of her life" is very touching indeed. It is always a pleasure to meet the new adopting families and to keep in contact for years after. We have made many new friends.
Good Bless and have a happy new year.

Livonia, Michigan (Detroit) November 21 and 22 was once again the place to be for cat fanciers.

The International Cat Association held another successful TICA cat show attended by the highest quality of felines on the continent, 21 different breeds were represented and Boreal Cattery was proud to be part of the event.

Tecumseh our five month old male and Bijou our 11 month old girl really made us proud. We couldn't ask for any more, they both conducted themselves as if show business was in their royal blood.

Tecumseh received nine finals out of a possible fourteen and was the 3rd Best All Breed kitten in the show. Bijou claimed four finals propelling her well into her triple Grand Champion title. Many judges saw in Tecumseh the same quality his dad displayed during his show career, beautiful round eyes, thick lush coat and charm that just doesn't quit. Most agreed this boy has potential to be an international winner.
